First Federal Foundation Awards Grants to 17 Idaho Non-Profits

Various community projects and programs to receive funding, totaling more than $52,000

TWIN FALLS, Idaho – The First Federal Foundation has announced that 17 Idaho non-profits will receive grants from the Foundation’s most recent round of funding. In total, $52,434 will be provided to these organizations, helping them accomplish various community projects and initiatives. Over 50 entities submitted grant requests for consideration during the application period. The First Federal Foundation has entered its 21st year of operation and has now distributed more than $1.4 million towards improving and enriching lives.

“Each time the Foundation board comes together to review the dozens of applications submitted, it is a challenge to select recipients due to the quality of the requests and needs communicated,” said Nick Popplewell, Vice President and Marketing Director at First Federal Bank. “It reminds us of the incredible work that occurs daily in our communities by non-profits as well as the significant need that exists to continue their missions.”

To be selected, a grant request must include a capital project and successfully demonstrate community impact. Specially, the 9-person Foundation board evaluates applications for their ability to enhance the quality of life for people who live in communities served by First Federal Bank. Areas of focus for the Foundation include educational, civic, health, human services, social, and cultural organizations.

When notified they would be receiving a grant, Amy Luginbill, from the Idaho Food Bank exclaimed, “We are so honored and thrilled to receive this support!” Another grant recipient, Eryn Turner from the Meridian Library Foundation, shared, “We are overjoyed to receive this support for our project and see its positive impact on our community.”
