Twin Falls Festival of Lights Parade to Occur Dec. 6, Presented by First Federal Bank

TWIN FALLS, Idaho – The annual Twin Falls Festival of Lights Parade, a hallmark of the Magic Valley holiday season, will occur on Friday, December 6 in downtown Twin Falls. This year’s theme is “A Winter Wonderland” and, based on previous years, attendees can expect floats and other entrants to go all out to help ring in the holidays. The parade begins at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Dierkes Street and Main Avenue, and will proceed down Main, ending at Jerome Street. Over 60 parade entries are expected, led by Santa Claus and, new this year, live reindeer.

“First Fed has a rich history of supporting events within the communities we serve, and sponsoring the Festival of Lights Parade is one that has a special place in our hearts,” stated Angela Wells, Customer and Community Engagement Manager for First Federal Bank. “We are very excited to add live reindeer to the parade and Downtown Commons this year too, hopefully heightening the holiday magic.”

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, First Fed’s float will feature Christmas trees decorated by bank employees. After the parade, these trees will be donated to local families in need, through a collaboration with South Central Community Action Partnership (SCCAP).

“It was important to us find a way to help individuals and families who might not be as fortunate. We would like to thank SCCAP for their partnership and shared vision on this effort,” added Wells.

Before and during the parade, individuals are encouraged to stop by the First Federal Bank tents located at the Downtown Commons for free hot cocoa and cookies. Once Santa and his reindeer have completed the parade, they will return to the Commons for pictures. At the conclusion of the parade, the annual tree lighting ceremony will also occur at the Commons.
